I first heard this song while Paris was supporting Florence + the Machine back in February (a truly religious experience I'd recommend) - but this particular song about the healing that comes through making art, and the anger that comes from AI taking over is my anthem for the year.

Paris Paloma is an artist who always sticks to her values, singing about issues like toxic masculinity, difficulties around trying to love yourself and the additional mental load that comes from being a woman, all sung with the voice of an angel.

This design is inspired by the DIY art style behind a lot of protest movements. Because I believe that creativity will thrive and prevail, even in the darkest of times.

✨ Even though my design didn't snag the win, I'm still pretty proud of my creepy final entry for The Folio Society's illustration competition earlier this year, inspired by Neil Gaiman's 'The Truth Is A Cave in the Black Mountains’.

It was designed almost entirely on some long commutes earlier this year (earning some funny looks from people on the Northern line) but I had a lot of fun designing something outside of my usual style. The winning designs were absolutely gorgeous too and worth a look! 🖌️

Where do I even begin with the Before Trilogy? Anyone who knows me will be aware of my slight obsession with these films since I first watched them in university - but what I’ve found most enduring about them is just how much you learn about yourself by revisiting them every few years. While the teenage me longed for a profound connection in a foreign city in Before Sunrise, a few years later I found myself resonating greatly with Celine’s cynicism and world weariness. Knowing each film, and how things play out by the end can really colour how certain interactions take place after a rewatch. So if you haven’t watched any of these films…why the hell not?

These three films show the relationship between two strangers over a span of 18 years and marked the beginning of Richard Linklater’s delve into using the natural passing of time as a tool in storytelling (without these films, would he have ever had the ambition to film ‘Boyhood’ over 12 years, or his new ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ film, which is supposedly in the midst of filming for 20 years in total?)

This piece is based off George Melies' Trip to the Moon (from 1902 !!!). Melies' creativity was unmatched and the visuals of this film are truly iconic (the music videos for Carly Rae Jepsen's Loneliest Time and Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight Tonight both take influence from it - and are both amazing songs, let's be honest!)

It's part autobiographical drama, part hallucinatory musical, where Bob Fosse basically reflects upon (and rips apart) his own questionable life choices and predicts his own demise in a closing sequence that is as brilliant as it is anxiety inducing.

Designing gifts for my friends and family is one of my favourite ways to show I care - so this is a little poster designed for Gavin for a Christmas present. ( for reference, 'The Play That Goes Wrong' is proper belly-laugh funny and ridiculous, and definitely recommended for anyone in London!)

There are so many moments when you design things that are *blink and you'll miss it* moments, and this was one. I designed the Graphics for this run-down car wash for a montage of shoot outs - and while it was only on screen for a few seconds, I loved how it turned out!

I've got an Adobe cloud full of unpublished designs that I've made in my spare time, so I thought I'd delve into the vaults and share them with you all!

I listened to the audiobook of Normal People during lockdown, going on sunset walks and listening to the frustratingly realistic back and forth between Marianne and Connell. The BBC show perfectly captures the tone and dynamic of the book, and has the sensibility of some of my favourite indie films - a must see/read if you haven't experienced it already, and perfect for gloomy winter nights!
